Hi all.

Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Stefan, I'm 37 years old, and I live in the Netherlands, or Holland, which ever you prefer.

For years it has been my dream to visit the United States in general and San Francisco in particulair.

I can't really explain why but this city has got something special.

I am saving up for the trip, and I think I will travel at the end of october at the earliest.

I am hoping to get some insights in your city through this forum.

Ok. What do you want to know? Maybe look through some of the past topics here but keep an eye out for people who are obnoxious and overly negative, there are a lot of them here.

Well, I think I will just browse the forum and ask some questions here and there.
And I know about negative people, they actually exist all over the world, unfortunatly. But I can deal with that.

The only question I have got so far is this:

I have seen some pictures of the city and I came across this building (found the picture on this forum btw):

What is it? What's in it?
It's the pointy one.

That's called the TransAmerica Pyramid. I think it's just office buildings..there might have been a restaurant at the top at one time (but that might have been long ago)

I do have one more question though.

How many volts of electricity do you get out of the wall socket?
I hear it's not the same everywhere, and I want to bring my laptop, and I also need electricity for shaving and for my phone and camera.

You can find that out easily online. You can get an adapter for your devices that lets you use them here.

This forum has a lot of bashers, so don't let them ruin your image of San Francisco. The best time to visit is around September and October.

That would be silly.
Amsterdam and SF share noted similarities.

Many recreational possibilities...
