I love the demonstration banter, very funny as always clongirl!

I lived in Pleasanton for quite a while and enjoyed it. I found it to be a bit far 'out' for me and returned to the Walnut Creek area but I found the people to be really fantastic - to a person - above and beyond on the 'nice' scale.

Example - someone stole a cat whom I adored. I found out that the cat escaped and tried to reunite with him. I flyered neighbhorhoods where he had been cited for nearly a year. Every time I flyered a different neighborhood, people - plural - called me to say that they'd put food out for him, set a humane trap for him, watch out for him...telling me to please don't worry, their neighborhood would do everything possible to get him safely home to me. People called to tell me to have faith that I'd get him back (not the sandwich board kind of faith, just regular Everywhere I went people reached out with caring and concern.

This just doesn't fit with the negative descriptions I hear from others. Of course, there are all kinds of people everywhere but I think that the people of Pleasanton rock.

As for liberal or conservative, the 680 corridor runs about 50:50 Dem/Republican but the really important 'liberal' causes win here - they'll vote for equality or the environment decidedly left of their party affiliation.

I think some people who denigrate the area as 'conservative' are uncomfortable being around people who don't think the same way they do. I'm cool with diversity - to me that means diversity of thought as well as race/ethnicity/background. It's what makes America great.

Let me know if I can help you, 'Plunge.'

Can anyone attest to the general vibe in this area? Would a moderately liberal family feel at home living in Pleasanton?

I lived there and it was fine. Yes the Teaparty on the overpass gets old fast but otherwise a safe nice town. I never had any issues with people there and I am extremely liberal.
