And warmer weather and good baseball has given the Bay Area teams a pop. The World Champion San Francisco Giants are not surprisingly up 21 percent, while the Oakland A’s are up nearly 26 percent.

Good to hear, I wonder if all the annoying a*s bandwagon Giants fans have sparked a little resurgence in the A's fan base.

Maddeningly frustrating team to follow this year. It's been rollercoaster of a season so far...

Meanwhile the Mariners are setting new LOW attendance records every day,
and yet have done well only against the A's. Going tomorrow, being from Castro Valley the A's were our team for many years, I remember dating my wife at the coliseum, $4 bleacher seats.

I just moved to San Francisco from Minneapolis, MN. I plan to attend the games between the A's and Twins in Oakland. I've had several people warn me not to wear Twins gear. Is it that bad? After what happened to that poor Giants fan in L.A. I'm a little worried to represent.

I was thinking of wearing Twins gear during the game but taking it off when I go home or am I being too paranoid?

I've only been living here a few months so just going by stories I've heard.

There shouldnt be any problem. At all.

Not picking on you personally(more your friends who gave you this advice) but I dont understand how what happened in LA, which is an of itself, an extremely isolated incident, will somehow translate to Oakland A's fans picking on a Minnesota Twins fan???

I agree, but don't go to a Raider game in some other team's colors.

Nah, depends more on where you sit and what team's colors you're wearing.

Football is one of those sports where that kind of thing happens in a lot of places, but every game I've been to has always had at least a handful of other fans from other cities. The worst heckling I saw was a Chargers fan, but even then, up in Mount Adams, it was just playful.

I don't recommend going into the Black Hole with another jersey, though. But elsewhere? It's fine. Just don't act a fool.
