Polk St. prostitution

My impression is that in the evenings the Polk street area mostly attracts drunken young partiers from out of town, nowadays. (I get this impression from the stories of them getting into fights.) If there are prostitutes or transvestites around there, I never hear about them.

To the OP, it has been awhile since I have been in this area at night. But, from the various busts I sometimes hear about, you are more likely to find more transsexuals and transvestites than male prostitutes.

It's hard to grow a sense of humor. Some people go their entire lives without one. Still, the rewards are great if you can manage it.

I live practically at that intersection in a luxury high rise condo building right off Polk St. Yes there are shady characters but there are professionals and every one in between as well. Its perfectly fine at 1 am or 1pm as long as you keep your wits about you. There's plenty of locals, tourists, bums, druggies, and everyone else you see in the city. I DO not see prostitutes however.

When the male street hustlers were working on Polk St. in the late 70s it was in the pre-AIDS era. Things have changed so much since then...

There are still hookers on that part of Polk. I'd estimate they are 2-1 Trannies to female, but I could be wrong. I see many at 2 am or so when I'm on Polk, south of about Bush. I've been on Polk in my car at about 5:30-6:00am a few times, on my way to the airport. Each time I have seen female prostitutes heading home (I suppose) at that hour.

Upper Polk, where I live, has cleaned up completely, as far as I can tell. It's all Marina Girls, bros and neighborhood residents on the weekend from Broadway up to Union.

and they are always really tall bigger than average
