In fact we live in the south now and our neighborhood is 60% Asian and mostly Chinese. Where in the bay area can my two preppy black sons feel comfortable and not be confronted and limited by their blackness everyday? My rental budget is $3000-4000 per month. Both play football so they are concerned about teams too. Thanks for any help!
This has got to be a troll topic.

I am sorry to tag along on this thread but I have a somewhat similar question and hope you don't mind if I jump in. We are an interracial couple (black and white) and I have a 13 year old white son. My fiance is an engineer and works in Palo Alto and we are looking in the Half Moon Bay area because a shuttle for his work picks up at Hwy 1 and 29 but we are also looking north and south of Half Moon Bay also. In looking at demographics I have also noticed the low percentage of blacks in many areas. Does anyone here have any thoughts or comments on the area we are looking in? I was in Santa Cruz once and a gentleman made some comment about growing up in Capitola and made it sound like there was not a lot of integration there. Good luck Jeddi and would love to hear where you and your family end up and good luck at your new job!

i think those are wonderful areas that you are looking. historically, no, there were not a lot of black people living in those areas but i can't think of any reason why you wouldn't love living there. i certainly would!
