What happened to the winters where we could expect consistent rain every month November - April? It's been like 4 winters in a row where weeks upon weeks are totally dry.

San Francisco seems to have gotten the climate of somewhere in mid-Baja. It's such a shame. Sure, we got a considerable amount of rain in December in 2014, but since then it's very sporadic and with huge gaps in between storms. I used to love this time of year when there were many days I could cuddle up under a blanket and sip hot chocolate while rain fell outside. And when the landscape looked lush and green. Growing up in San Diego, I always envied that the Bay Area received much more exciting, variable weather and tons more rain.

Lately, you just look at the weather forecast and see the sun symbol for 10 days.

Anybody else actually sick of it, and sick of 70 degree days in February? I guess I should really move up to Seattle!

I know we need the rain, but I love dry winters.

I love the cool temps, only thing better would be to combine the long days of summer with the cool dry winters.

November through APRIL!!! I don't remember SF ever having consistent rain for that period of time. Seattle or Portland, yes, but even that is pushing it lol.

Ive back home for a few weeks now and I am LOVING this sunny, dry, warm weather. It's quite the departure from Switzerland.

If it's any consolation to you, the spring and summer will be miserable. The spring will see strong winds as cooler air from the Pacific rushes through the Golden Gate to the overheated Central Valley. Summer will be fogged in from June to September.

Think of this as your mild summer.

I feel bad for Central Valley farmers. They're going to suffer from lack of water for their crops. Produce will be more expensive this year.

Based on dendrochronological studies and other paleo-climate indicators, this is actually a really mild drought.

Try on a 50 or 100 year drought for size.

And those will happen again - for sure. Repeatedly.
