The article doesn't say if these are new jobs, or if they are moving existing jobs, Amazon already has people working for them in the area, but kind of indirectly, they have Lab 126 in Cupertino, and A-9 in Palo Alto, not to mention their data center operations (AWS). But maybe they are going to hire directly though. The other surprising thing is that there is actually 600,000 sqft to lease in Moffett Towers, since I thought only one building was empty, 600000 sqft is two whole buildings, though they could be negotiating for the building under construction.
What they haven't mentioned is the plans for 1-day or same day delivery for the Bay Area, it seems that it would require a large distribution center too.
