As a matter of fact you live in a city where many innocents die every year. Where's your outrage?
I'm outraged even when someone in SF kills a dog, did you not see my thread?

I think you misunderstood my posts. I believe it's outrageous for ANYONE living in ANY CITY in the entire world to WANT MURDERS TO INCREASE thinking that since the majority of murders occurs between criminals, the innocents caught in the crossfires are okay. Does that make sense? It's not about Oakland, it's about Montclair's attitude that more murders are good.

lol, as long as the people of Montclair aren't like the Montclair of city-data. If there are 8 gang bangers mixed in a crowd of 2 children, Montclair of city-data would encourage someone to open fire on the crowd. The children are just collateral damage that is necessary to rid of the 8 gang bangers (according to her own logic that she has verified four times).

Please hold the conversation to the new council members and not the prison system - thank you.

As far as the council members, I don't have much confidence in these new members (Lynette Gibson's "economic justice".....whooooo boy) as I didn't vote for any of them. But one thing was for certain, all incumbents had to go. Sadly, this wasn't possible for the At-Large seat.

I too don't have much confidence in the incoming council members. Not that their ability is in question, but I think the problems they are going to have to tackle are simply too enormous for them to do anything in the short term. This could take multiple generations before there is a noticeable effect.

Yes Stephen.

People in Montclair and other Oakland neighborhoods actually participate in the goings on in the neighborhood. They don't hide behind a fortresslike condo complex that they evacuate in the morning and hastily enter into when they go to sleep-probably ashamed to tell people the area they live in, never embarking out to actually be a part of their community.
