I'm thinking of buying a home up in the hills of either Kentfield or Corte Madera, but some of those steeply inclined, winding roads with hairpin turns give me pause. Does anyone know if there are a lot of car accidents there?
Thanks!
K

I don't remember complaints of accidents on those roads from my Marin years, but do remember occasional problems with bad weather. The storm fells a tree, or floods part of a road, or knocks out the power, and residents are put out for awhile.

If you're working with a buyer's representative, I suggest asking if a description of road-related problems is likely to be included in the disclosures.

I also suggest calling the local police department for information on accidents. I did feel nervous on the roads to west Marin. Some locals would take those curves at breakneck speeds.

No, it's too dangerous, please, for the love of god, stay where you are, Marin County is so damn bestial, what with all those horse riding women, with their stretch pants, their $800 sunglasses, their ponytails pulled through the back of their baseball caps, driving those Range Rovers at near the speed limit. And, whatever you do, don't drive down the horror of Sir Francis Drake over White's Hill into the San Geronimo Valley. The horror, they have no street lights, no curbs, none of the most civilized trappings of modern life. Take it from me, a barbarian who grew up there, having to fight everyday of my life with gorgeous hippie chicks, looking at the Coho in the stream, the eternal beauty of the GG National Park, you don't want to go to Marin....
