Anyone familiar with the 'better' majors that university offers?

I heard before I left, Nursing was one.
My friend, who is a psychologist who taught there said they had a strong Psych program, what else?

Thanks

I think they have a pretty solid education program for teachers. They also have a unique wine business program. The thing is though, why go to Sonoma State when you you could go to Cal or Davis and still pay public tuition? Besides, Rohnert Park isn't exactly a "college town" so I don't really see what the draw would be.

The Sociology & Criminal Justice programs are great (I'm an alumni of both - Soc major, CJ minor). The Soc. folks publish a yearly top 25 censored news stories (Project Censored), which the students essentially write. The first woman warden at San Quintin and current director of the Cal. Dept. of Corrections graduated from SSU with a Criminal Justice degree, and many of the CJ faculty have great ties into the system. Class sizes are really small - usually 25-30 which allows students to be involved - you aren't just a number. I've had great experience with all of the faculty and still keep in touch with many of them.
True, Rohnert Park is not in any way a college town, but Sonoma County is a great place to live. It's beautiful, close to everything, and the cost of living is slighting lower then anything you'd find near Cal.
