Why does OPD not do more to prevent such animalistic behavior? It as actually very scary as I didn't know what was going on at first. They backed up traffic for a good 10 minutes. There was a cop not too far away who seemed to be concerned with something else?

Dumb, yeah. "Animalistic", no.

Seems pretty animistic to me. I can see someone hitting someone else and violence following. People can't just block off traffic like that. Tell me, if someone doing donuts hit your car, do you think you guys would get out and collect information with each other? Probably nor huh?

Eh, so it's dangerous. So they blocked an intersection for 10 whole minutes. They're also fun to watch from a safe distance... IMO, the city of Oakland should block off a portion of some parking lots with concrete Jersey barriers so people have somewhere to do it off the streets. They're not going to stop it entirely, so it might as well be done in a safer way.

Sure, confine it. But it is a very unstable environment when all of a sudden people start driving like dumbasses with any warning. Besides, how do they not hit each other lol? And doesn't that seriously mess up thee car? I don't understand this behavior. Why would you want to damage your own property like that? Im a thrill seeker and I would never do that to my car.

How does it damage the car? Aside from some tire wear, but probably less than I use on a track day, there's not going to be any. They're dumb, typical behavior you'd expect out of high school students except even dumber. We used business parks for "sideshows" (although we didn't call them that and it was more drag racing than donuts and hollerin' at hoes.)

There's more attention on them now that they've returned to shooting each other. Oakland PD just ignored them before the shooting that happened a few months ago. That's most of the problem. They did the same thing with the drag racers here... just ignored them for years. By that time they'd become pervasive and hard to shut down.

Friday at like 2am. sideshow was on international in the 70's and a cop was somewhere in the 60's doing something totally different. Sideshows seem like hotspots for all types of things. A public street is not the place to do something like that. I don't have a problem with the behavior itself, rather the location it takes place.

You were in the 70s at 2am on the weekend and a sideshow broke out. I'm surprised you're surprised.

No shots fired I take it?

There are side shows and then there are side shows.
