We decidedly live in redneck, Jesus loving, grits gulping, NASCAR cheering, gun owning, hunting and fishing, staunch conservative voting territory here in the Ozarks five miles from the Arkansas border and we've found the people to be some of the most genuine, hard working, accepting, friendly, helpful, patriotic people you could ever hope to find. Of course, there are exceptions but that's true anywhere. If the OP, who's gone silent, was halfway "real" in his opening post then he's not likely to find what he's looking for and would be comfortable with in the Bay Area. But then, I don't think that was a genuine post to begin with.
