Battle of the Upstarts: Houston vs. San Francisco Bay - The Daily Beast

I've read through it, and, honestly, don't see the point of having a battle, as the author suggests; there would be no gain from it. Instead, I feel that it would be better for the society as a whole for a 'synergy' to develop between these two cities: the tech innovation seen in San Francisco can assist heavily in energy R&D that occurs in Houston. The two cities can help to bring the world closer to having a large supply of sustainable, clean forms of energy for the US.

SF is certainly pretty, and it's suburbs have nice weather- though the city itself is rather dreadful.

Still. It's not always a choice.

I can name 20 professions that you can live a decent life in Houston, and maybe 3 of those you can do the same in SF.

None of those can afford a 2 million dollar house. They only make 300k which wouldn't wouldnt buy them
