I do not believe many neighborhoods in or near downtown are on a flight path for commercial jets?

I hate that Logan airport in Boston is so close to desirable neighborhoods in and near downtown Boston; I can't stand hearing jet noise at 5:05 a.m. some mornings -- or anytime, actually!

I realize it doesn't bother most, or most say they get used to it or don't even notice it...But every two minute takeoffs at times is a quality of life issue...at least to me.

Must I avoid most of Oakland and Berkeley also? Or is the Oakland airport not too busy?

The planes stay mostly over the Bay on their descents to/ascents from SFO and OAK, so this is non-issue in SF, Oakland, and Berkeley.

Only a few cities in the Bay Area have noticeable plane noise (mostly from takeoffs): San Bruno (Tanforan), South SF, parts of Daly City, and parts of Alameda (Bay Farm island and the western side during storms (SFO traffic re-routing)). Stay away from these places, and you won't have to really worry about plane noise in the Bay Area.

Think I flew over the City once upon takeoff. Think I was going to Honolulu - can't remember. But yeah, I can't really say I've ever notice pronounced jet noise in SF.

Burlingame also has a lot of airplane noise, but you'll never hear a realtor say this, for obvious reasons.
