You can't be serious.

I don't agree with their lawsuit and sense of entitlement to ask for $3 million...HOWEVER, it's ridiculous to think that they somehow "deserved to be robbed and had it coming". What the hell do you base that on? Do you personally know these victims? Your
"680 corridor" basis is dumb since they're from Dublin...not Danville or Walnut Creek. Even then, who are you to decide who "deserved to be robbed and had it coming"? Clearly you're just bitter toward people who are doing better in life than you are.

This family was riding home from SF to Dublin...using public transportation, which should be applauded. I've ridden BART many times to the coliseum station to attend A's games with my wife and very young son. I've also parked in the coliseum BART parking lot many times while attending games. I'm an average suburban white guy. Apparently, by your logic, I also "deserve to be robbed and have it coming".

The suspects were very brazen and clearly not typical "teeny boppers".

Quit being a jerk.

Nobody deserves to get robbed, and in this case a couple people got hit in the face, so physically attacked.

However, $3 million is absolutely absurd. That's just greed and feeling sorry for yourself.

3 million is just a basic 2 bedroom house, it's asking for a barely middle class home.

Since it's near impossible to get a conceal carry permit, BART better guarantee protection or else they deserve to be sued for millions. That's just my opinion though.

Maybe losing a few million will help them clean up that sloppy excuse for public transit.
This. I voted against the bond measure last November. Given BART's poor money management and inefficiency, I seriously did not think it would receive so much support.

Throwing money at the problem in hopes it somehow gets fixed clearly doesn't work here.

Whenever citizens vote for a bond or measure that gives billions of taxpayer dollars to a government managed entity, I always have this thought in my head:

Liberals believe the only way to support anything is to throw more money at it. There is so much waste, money isn't the issue. You don't want to increase taxes to give XYZ $1 billion more each year, OMG HOW CAN YOU BE SO HEARTLESS AND AGAINST XYZ. Reform in most cases is better than throwing more money at it.
