NYer here, when I went to the bay area over the summer, my allergies stopped all together, even in Petaluma and in the city areas. What I would do when I'm back home is take a combination of a daily pill and Flonase. I did that routine every day for a couple of weeks, and next thing you know I barely have to take anything anymore unless the pollen is really bad that day.

HEPA filters help a lot with my seasonal allergies. Also the common allergy medicines (Claritin and so on) are usually considered safe to take during pregnancy. Discuss with doctor and all that jazz and if it's a personal choice not to, I get that. Never tried it but many people swear by netty pots. Claritin (loratadine) works for me except a few days when I get out the trusty benadryl and deal with the drowsiness.

Worst season in years for me (the rain). I've already had a sinus infection because of the severity of the allergy season. Most of my issues have been sinus related, so I have a humidifier in my office and at home, use a neti pot, and have some homeopathic sinus and congestion meds. I also use Flonase or Zyrtec D when I'm battling allergy symptoms (mostly from inland areas like the tr-valley).

I think lots of filters are a scam, but some do work. If I were buying one now, I would go to Consumer Reports to look it up.
