Hallo, People

My husband got a job in San RAfael...I like big city...Like to fill its energy....So SF is perfect for me!!! It would be GREAT for us to live between SAn RAfael and SF...

As we r a familly with a baby and 2 cats, we need more or less quite place to live, away from traffic ( because of cats)....with our garden and enough space to breath
Plan to rent a house...about 1500-2000 dollar a month...Is it real?????

For those who know SAn RAfael: What can you say about the district around Pickleweed Park ( Canal str., Bay Point Dr.) ?????? Is it worth???? Or any other suggestions????

That sounds like a real problem. $2000 will not get you a detached house with a yard in San Rafael, or anywhere else in Marin County. Even $2500 would be considered cheap. However, you should be able to find something palatable in Berkeley, and then you would just cross the bridge to get to San Rafael.

San Rafael is in the wealthiest county in the USA. That's why it's so ridiculous. This is about as cheap as it gets:

Charming 3bd/2ba San Rafael Rancher 415-637-8934 (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/apa/619282440.html - broken link)

You could find a similar property in Berkeley for $500 less.. or Petaluma, which would be a worse commute but no bridge toll.

The Canal Area, as they call it, has a high concentration of low-income housing as well as a nearby waste treatment facility. You seem to have enough money not to have to live there.

Default Looking for house in San Rafael

If I were you, I'd go to craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums (SF area). Look in the housing section. There are a ton of homes to rent.
