it`s in reality lil` less ridiculous than I posted just moving to start a new job in a wine industry.Hunting for a place to live, ( the problem is not quite sure where the job will be, have a potential one in downtown SF as a starter , but eventually will relocate to Napa),would be nice to find a place between Napa and SF where I can commute more or less easily.
I`ve got less than a month to figure things out so any suggestions are EXTREMELY appreciated
P.S.
Got a bit discouraged reading about crime in SF, I`m no fool, but come on! everyone`s favourite city?? what`s happened to it?

I would say Vallejo based on location, but it's not really the best place to live (high crime, going bankrupt, etc). Maybe you can look at the towns south of Vallejo - Pinole, Hercules, Benicia/Martinez, El Sobrante, Point Richmond, and thereabouts. All are easily accessible to both SF and Napa, and shouldn't take more than 30 minutes either way (without traffic). I drive between SF and Napa 4x/week during off-hours, and it takes 50-60 minutes on most days. But keep in mind, I do drive 80-85mph the whole way, as many Bay Area drivers do on that road. You might also consider Marin County, since you can take the Golden Gate to/from hwy 37... not quite as direct as the I-80 route, but has a lot less traffic.

P.S. Don't worry, the crime discussions you've read here are mostly over-blown! It's very safe for a big metro, and while I can't speak for everyone, it's still my favorite city.
