2. I am seriously not a MS / Gates fan either. ... But his house isn’t a Micro-Soft design or product.

It’s one helluva property. Close relative of mine has been there a number of times in sub-contractor employee capacity ... spoke in awe of the place.

Good questions. Dunno the answers. Top of head thought is:
1. Always evacuate if warned in time and safely possible ...
2. If it seems dangerous to evacuate ... seal the home and hunker down till the flames race over the surface.

If fire blankets can save wildfire fighters ... and they do ... pretty sure I’d keep a few on hand in my underground house
