So how has yours been lately?
I have seen an improvement.
It is similar to the commute during the “Great Ression”.
Lots of people staying home.
I don’t have that option but I am enjoying the roads a bit more.
Andy.

Well some people are not sending their kids to to school, which always clears things up. Also just more people in general working from home. Possibly the effect of Trump deportations as well.

Morning commute seems lighter than usual but the evening commute aside from Monday has been horrid and just as bad or worse than normal. BART is definitely lighter than usual.

I walk downstairs to my home office, no traffic jams to report in the hallway.

However two times this past week I needed to drive into the city to retrieve some files and traffic was a relative breeze across the bay bridge around noon both times--it's usually much heavier imo.

So fast across the San Mateo Bridge this week from east bay.

Ironically, this coronavirus is helping the environment more than anything else. Fewer people driving means less fossil fuel burned and less air pollution.

I had a potpourri of commutes this week. On Monday, BART was light (AM) but the bus was normal (PM). Drove the rest of the week. East Bay-Marin regular commute was lighter than usual. SF-Marin reverse commute was normal; 19th Avenue was as heavy as usual. Not many cars on the road this morning. I think everything will be a ghost town come Monday with most schools closed.

With all these people not taking BART I wonder if they are actually staying home or driving instead. Evening traffic in the outer East Bay (central CoCo county) has been awful most of the week. Yesterday I just walked home from BART instead of taking an Uber/Lyft because the traffic was so horrible around the station.

It's window into not living in such an overcrowded hell hole like the Bay Area.

Commute is great - no traffic Fremont to Brisbane and back.
Make it in 45 minutes, usually it's double that.
Last day though, will be working from home for a while.

Haven't gone to work since last Tuesday and now everything is remote until the end of the semester. The commute from my bed to my desk sounds great in theory, but I am already starting to climb the walls...
