Thanks, maybe I'll give that a try! It's just that where I usually go day-to-day, I don't tend to see any smokers.... I suppose a lot of times people smoke outside of bars, but I'm a bit hesitant to try my recruiting in that environment! I appreciate the suggestion.

Researcher, just got back from a trip to San Fran, I am not a bar person so I don't know how it works but w/ so many people in San Fran maybe, just walking around downtown, I shouldn't say this, but there is a lot of people downtown, some people have to be smoking there during the day who live there and you could just ask. If I researched, I wouldn't be looking at a bar, I'd just go around during daylight and go to the heart of the city. My son has been in research (HPV) for a few years so anything I can do to help.

This might sound weird, but you could also target Asian neighborhoods... I live in one, and it's among the few places (in SF) where people don't treat you like a leper for smoking. Just a cultural thing, I guess, since I know they smoke like chimneys in most Asian countries.
