Xblack- the cat survived!
nutleynut - i let her paint the apartment and came home to a disaster (there was construction dust IN my kitchen cupboards. was pissed, but she had her cleaning lady come in. only minimal damage (paint on couch, piece of artwork damaged)

AND THEN...about two weeks ago I called her to get an idea of when she might list the apartment and when I can expect people to be traipsing through and she says: oh, my plans have changed and i don't have any plans to list the apartments for the next two months.

so back in october when you wrecked my life? what was that all about? hahaha. no, it wasn't really THAT bad. i only spent one day crying in bed....

so it looks like i'll be there a while longer.

thanks for checking in!

It's happened a lot over the last 12 months or so... the reality of what the property is worth caught up to the fantasy of what it might have been worth.

Many owners will not inform tenants because if the sale doesn't go through the damage is still done...

I actually had the exact opposite thing happen to me. My landlord and his son bought the house I'm renting, outright, as a teardown.. they also own the house next door, outright. Between the two that's a half-acre of land.. so they planned to subdivide and build four houses on it. But they couldn't get construction financing, so they're renting it to me for 3-4 years while they save up to get it done. Once they're ready, it's wrecking ball. I'm planning to buy my first home at that point.. I figure when the construction starts up again in earnest, that's the right time.
