These protesters/activist/terrorist need to find another cause to bastardize.
Oscar Grant's people want nothing to do with this nonsense. These activist are serving their own agenda by trying to take the rush hour patrons of BART hostage to get what they want. BART has made every attempt to bring the peace and these people just like making noise for the sake of being on TV.

Protesters threaten disruption of service at BART Fruitvale Station

Nearly two months after Oscar Grant III was shot to death by a BART officer, protesters threatened to disrupt service at the Fruitvale Station where Grant died the morning of Jan. 1.
The small group gathered at the station Thursday to announce that they would shut it down March 5 during rush hour unless officials met their ultimatum for increased accountability and other demands organizers have made since early January.
About 15 people walked from the station's plaza upstairs to the platform where Grant was shot.
They placed flowers inside a chalk outline meant to represent where Grant's body lay after BART Officer Johannes Mehserle shot the unarmed man. Mehserle, who was arrested and charged with murder in January, is out on $3 million bail.

He is required to appear in court on March 23.
Grant supporters are expected to march about 4 p.m. today — on what would have been his 23rd birthday — from the Hayward downtown BART to City Hall.
Also Thursday, attorneys gave members of the BART Board of Directors an overview of the status of an independent investigation being conducted by their law firm Meyers Nave.
"We will "... be providing regular updates and periodic updates as to our status so everyone will be informed as to where we are at any point in time," said attorney Jayne Williams.
A broadcast of the entire update is available at www.bart.gov/news.
BARTtv News will also post video of an update from members of the BART Board Police Review Committee

I understand your position. I also think you are not being as compassionate or understanding of the protestors as you might be if you were not afraid. Of what is for you to say.

I don't see any real or lasting good coming from interfering with the lives of commuters. But making noise and getting publicity(shining a light on) on the subject is a good that empowers and gives voice to those who feel affected and vulnerable to this happening to them. This cop should never have had a badge and some method of preventing/minimizing the possibility of this happening again must be found and that research should be done openly and publically.

Pissing off commuters is not helping anyone's cause. Any protest against BART should take place at BART headquarters if anywhere.

But in this case the cop has been arrested for murder so any protesting seems like needlessly pushing a moot point.

Compassionate that they are holding commuters hostage for their own personal agenda? Regardless of what happened at the BART station there will be a jury to decide what's what. I don't need them disrupting service of innocent people (just like when they did their little protest marches) to make A POINT.

If you are going to hold people hostage and threaten to disrupt their lives JUST because it suits YOUR needs and your agenda, that is terroristic.
Terrorism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Terrorism, according to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary,[1] is the systematic use of terror, "violent or destructive acts (as bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands."[2] At present, there is no internationally agreed upon definition of terrorism.[3][4] Common definitions of terrorism refer only to those acts which (1) are intended to create fear (terror), (2) are perpetrated for an ideological goal (as opposed to a materialistic goal or a lone attack), and (3) deliberately target (or disregard the safety of) non-combatants. Some definitions also include acts of unlawful violence or war.

These people have not had anything happen to them personally (or there would be Lawsuits a flying). Oscar Grant did lose something and so did his family. The only protest they were involved in was the one in Hayward which also disrupted traffic all evening but they had a right too because they were celebrating a loss and were not violent *although there were some idiots trying to start stuff at city hall with the cops. MORONS*

These other shmucks do not. They are jumping on the Grant Bandwagon becaues they like to MAKE NOISE and make a stink about something that really is nothing at all.. They do this for a living, they are professional protesters and activists.. They do not have altruistic intentions nor are they being benevolent.

I have no respect for people who use intimidation or threats to get their message across.

Whatever, i have no idea if this cop should have had a badge. It will all be settled with a trial, but i do not see how one can make a determination when ALL The facts have yet to be presented. Court trials ARE public. Every single piece of evidence is available to the public. EVERYTHING.

They need to stop acting like children- These Activist are just throwing a tantrum threatening innocent people to get what they want. Selfish.
