Yeah, right. Ownership is going to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in that part of Oakland after pursuing SV money for years.

I Wish, I think it's pathetic that Teams like the Oakland A's and San Francisco 49ers are about to move out of their cities to Rich Suburban out of the way towns like Fremont or Santa Clara? Do you know how bad the traffic will be trying to get out there? Santa Clara especially. These teams provided jobs to people in the area who need them. The 49ers being in Bay View/ Hunters Point and A's being in East Oakland. Baseball especially is supposed to be in an urban environment.

I agree with you completely.

I won't be heading to SV to see the A's. If anything, I'll switch to the Giants.

Plus its obvious that MLB is trying to abandon Oakland ASAP. They actually blocked the sale of the A's to an Oakland-based group before selling to Wolff and company-that's the first time in the history of the league they ever DENIED sale of a team to any willing buyer.

I'm still intrigued by Willie Brown's comments and knowing him, I wouldnt be surprised if he's speaking based on some inside knowledge.

But to be honest, this is the first time Id ever heard of this idea.

However...
A stadium in between West Oakland BART and Downtown would be more than ideal.

Why doesn't SF have an NBA team?

The Warriors are the Bay Area's NBA team.

Although both the Niners and A's obviously need new stadiums, now is not the time to be building them. California is falling into an economic black hole, and until Arnie and the gang find a way to start climbing out of it, stuff like sports stadiums shouldn't even be on the table.

Yeah, but that's Oakland right? SF has football and baseball, but no basketball. I live close to L.A. and we have two NBA teams. SF should have at least one.
