I'm guessing the second and third picture means that it would be very cumbersome to live with many people, but what does the first mean? Do you mean that one could rent storage space and live in there?

It's been done, but it's not legal and there are no facilities. No water, no toilet, no kitchen, no heat and no A/C....

When you get discovered, you'll get hauled off to jail.

So if 100 bucks a month is all you can afford for rent -- don't move here.

Is there even any place in the United States where rent is $100/month? (and no, I'm not really asking)

Of course there is... it's called Section 8/Voucher Housing.

I've managed properties where Tenants would often pay around $50 per month... even had one where the Tenant was paid $18 a month because the family was under-housed...

So, yes, it is possible to rent in the Bay Area and pay less than a $100 per month...

More Typical situations I see with roommates are $100 a week plus a share of the utilities...

Why do you ask?
