I happened to catch that segment on 60 Minutes last night. Cal-Trans is working against the clock & should of had the new bay bridge done 10 yrs ago [remember the Loma Prieta earthquake was over 20 years ago]. Now the time-line for completion is 2014 & the stress on the Hayward fault is worsening day by day! Not to mention the San Andreas fault.

Is that in thousands of dollars? Man, its weird to think that the original Bay Bridge was built in 3 years with a lot less money. Now, there is gridlock after gridlock, and the new S-curve didn't help matters either.

Oh well..at least the BART still exists

lol, yeah it makes no sense, especially since they are not doing the whole bridge just a little over half of it.
