. . . new and old around here. Haven't been here much lately, and a return visit indicates that things have gone downhill quite a bit. Too bad - this place could be a useful community tool, but the tools have taken over . . .

I'm a recent newcomer, and IMO the trolls are, how should I put it, @*%& irritating. Especially those who haven't actually been to the geographic locations which they massively troll on.

+1 on the useful community tool comment.

This seems to be a problem on many of the California boards. I suspect that non-Californians (and non-transplants) are most of the trolls.

Non-Californians seem to have the notion that Californians are: (quoted from another forum, both are from the midwest...well, maybe that's the problem)

Based on my visits there...I couldn't imagine living in California.

Don't get me wrong...some parts are awesome...like the Monterey Peninsula , Napa, Yosemite, the Sierra Nevadas, etc...

But...there are all those Californians...

True....most,not all, seemed alittle quirky to me,eccentric maybe. Kinda felt twilight zone-like. I tried to put that off and just pay attention to the beauty. The Bay area, had the most normal people probably due to the amount of tourists. Should have seen the looks I got when I lit up a smoke, like I was a baby killer or something. With all the mountains, houses built into the sides at all levels, in an earthquake zone, one has to question the sanity of some of you Californians.

These endless attacks on California from out-of-state posters doesn't occur in the other states forums. It feels like some people absolutely hate San Francisco\ LA\ San Diego\ all of California & all Californians!

Maybe some day! But careers in the sciences don't pay too well. The CalTech students have their own olive grove & press. The annual egg drop and science competitions are the "sports" at Caltech
