do you have a link for that? I just searched and only found this... which is contrary to lifting the limits as you say. I am genuinely curious where you got that, I may have missed it...

the administration seems to have all but declared war on the H-1B visa category by stepping up its enforcement unannounced H-1B employer audits. The government has increased the number of H-1B visa denials to those foreign nationals of countries with a large number of IT professionals, such as India. The administration has been silent regarding the arbitrary cap set by Congress that currently prevents U.S. employers from hiring new H-1B workers for the next 8 months.

Yeah but how much of that was spent not looking for a job because you knew you could find one pretty easily when you were ready to?

Job market is actually pretty hot for techs in SV. Many positions go for a while unfilled.

About one month. I knew nobody would be around during the December holiday period anyway.

That's right, thank you, I can't believe they lifted the limits. Well Obama allowed unlimited immigration for people with HIV earlier, so should there be surprises?
They don't care for US citizens; they allow their houses to be taken en masse in foreclosures, then they open the door to numerous foreign investors to come in and turn the very same people into a permanent class of renters (slaves), etc, no surprises. They do no want to to protect Americans. But they are making the bed they will have to lay in, eventually.

Time to abolish H1-B, simply and make it impossible to get a green card with it.

May be these companies should be also taxed the "the best and highest"?
Greed shouldn't be allow to control destruction of life of Americans. And these companies should be hit with 99.9 percent tax for hiring non-US people.

In a perfect world, but we must ask why Americans are falling behind people around the world in skills and knowledge in key vocational areas, to the point of losing a comparative advantage we have enjoyed for a long time...up til now. The kids ain't gettin' edgumucated no more, ya know?

Today I accepted a job offer. As I said earlier in this thread, I had been out of work for a little over three months.
