My husband and I just got married on February 19th 2012, and we're looking to move out of his family's house and move into our own place but we're having trouble finding something. We're looking to pay at most, $900.00 a month.. preferably with utilities included but not necessary. We check craigslist on a daily basis, but we cant seem to find anything at all. We have excellent rental references, as well as, excellent 700+ credit scores from both of us. We have a deposit saved up... Not sure where to start looking other than Craigslist, so if anyone can help that would be amazing. We dont mind living in lower SES areas. As long as we have our own home together.

I just checked craigslist and found a few places... Perhaps you are expecting more than what your budget allows for?

There's a lot more than what's on craigslist, by the way - quite a few complexes don't advertise on craigslist... Also, if you bump up to say 1100 per month, there will be a lot more options.

My husband and I can only afford up to 1000 including utilities because we have other bills to pay for monthly.
Do you happen to know the names of any affordable complexes or websites I can use to look for them?

Google Westwood Properties. They own older but decently maintained buildings in downtown San Jose.

They are my landlord and they have not raised the rent in the almost 4 years that I've lived here.

Don't expect any modern upgrades though.
