Hey guys..Which has a better graduate (masters in computer science) program
San Jose state? Or Santa Clara university?? Any idea regarding this?
I know that Santa Claras under-Grad progs are better than that offered by San Jose state university, but what about graduate programs? Especially for computer science? I'm an out of state students so both will cost nearly the same for me.
Please help me out as I'm really confused

Not sure about the particular programs, but in general, Santa Clara is much more highly regarded than SJSU. We have a lot of SJSU graduates at my company (mainly because its a local university) and in general, I am not very impressed by their intellectual horsepower.

Eh, not really the greatest intellectual firepower or high school GPA's going to SCU. Outrageously expensive undergrad tuition for an OK school. Well-regarded law school, though, at least for providing connections for its graduates.

Agreed that SCU isn't exactly Stanford or even Berkeley, but its a lot better than SJSU.

While true, Stanford also has one of the largest endowments in the country (NPR said something to this effect earlier this month) and Berkeley is a larger school. If you control for school size, I'd imagine, based on what I've heard from alumni, SCU spends a disproportionate percentage of its funds on the engineering program as compared to other small schools.

But, to the OP, I don't know anyone from the SJSU CS program, so I can't speak of a comparison of the quality of the graduate programs.

I have applied to SJSU and SCU for MS in Computer Engineering . Which college has better job prospects after graduation?

They're both good. If you're from out of state and paying close to the same amount of money for school fees, maybe SCU might work out for you a bit better because SJSU has been suffering a lot of budget woes as a state school and this might affect availability of selection/resources available to you as a student. SCU, as an independent institution, may have a more stable fiscal situation. Do note that Santa Clara is a Jesuit institution if that matters to you.

SCU has a pretty tight alumni group. The Sobratos, a big family owned real estate development firm, are big donors to the school and have built some of their student housing and probably some other buildings. Leon Panetta, the just retired Secretary of Defense, former CIA director, and long time Monterey area congressman, is a prominent alumnus.
