I just got an offer to attend an engineering company as a phd intern at Mountain View.
I will be paid around $4k/month after tax.
Do you think this amount is enough to cover all my living expenses, including accommodation?
Thanks in advance for your help

Why don't you give us your draft budget and we can help you refine it.

Thanks guys. I do not have a draft budget yet.
I started looking for accommodation.
Any idea about the expected monthly fee for renting a studio at Mountain View?

Thanks guys again. I have another concern please.
I have two possible options for accommodation: at Mountain View or at Sunnyvale.
Any advantages/disadvantages of one compared to the other?

Mountain View has more of a 'downtown' area whereas Sunnyvale is more 'suburban strip mall'.

Mountain View is a much nicer place to live. Nice downtown, close to train, lots of restaurants, good library and performing arts center, lots of coffee shops.
