My God, I haven't heard of Val's for years. They used to make boats with concrete hulls down there. I'll be thinking about this all day.

You can get a look at Drawbridge if you take a Capitol Corridor train between San Jose and Fremont, though of course you can't get out. I thought that Alviso park was cool too, so unlike the rest of San Jose.
