Never heard of it. Although there is a new law in California where the apartment owner has to be willing to let you install a charger.

Check it out:

article about the bill I'm talking about

Now, what we need is a law that requires new apartment buildings to have electric chargers in each parking space. It should also give existing places 15 years to install solar power and charging stations in each existing parking space.

i just purchased a volt. I am planning to have it charged at work since condo has none. It can be challenging at work since i come in late usually and whenever i see the charging stations are full. EIther I will have to come early or during the lunch.

Is current law requires existing condo owner to install of resident would like to install?

Yeah, I think that without that bill mentioned above, currently the land owner could say "no way, there's no way you're installing a charger!". So the aim of the bill is to change it so you can install it without them being able to stop you, although you would have to pay for it, I would assume. My understanding is that the bill passed.

My condo building allows EV charger installs as long as [A] You're paying for it, and [b] You're paying an electrician for installation if it requires more sticking a prong into a socket. The HOA board said they evaluated policies across other HOAs to mimic best practices, so I assume this approach isn't out of the ordinary.
