Is the current boom the biggest boom Downtown San Jose has ever experienced, if not, when was it? Downtown seems to be firing on all cylinders.

Downtown SJ had a boom in 1999 with Dotcom boom. It also performed well before the late recession. So is this the biggest boom downtown has ever seen? If not, when was it experiencing the biggest boom?

It suddenly occurred to me. You work for the San Jose Downtown Association!

Downtown San Jose | Silicon Valley

...but apart from my snarky comment, I actually do think downtown San Jose development is currently progressing more than it ever has in my lifetime at least. It's actually gotten much better in the last few years than I think many people give it credit for.

If so, that is really, really sad. Almost as sad as somebody self-appointing themselves head of public relations for downtown San Jose on the internet.

Stick to the subject and no more personal nonsense! For the last time, I am not affiliated with the city of San Jose, nor I work for this city!

San José' is the best city in Cali. It is giving SF a run for the money and its downtown surpasses so many others. A bit of sprawl is a strong point too. Nothing in San José is not the best example of a great and awesome Cali city. Heck I can know from experience, the best of what those northern legacy cities offer and they fall waaaay short. They got nothing on San José. Its rise is spectacular and Tech is King as it is its throne.

I can be old and know it is more awesome then anything west of the San Andreas......

* Hope I was on topic and not posting nonsense.

Out of curiosity, who actually cares whether or NOT San Jose is having "the biggest boom downtown has ever experienced" ??

Post here (well, except "topper" - we know what he thinks - since he's the official brown-noser for the city of San Jose, apparently).

Yes, I'd say it is the biggest boom ever. I went to SJSU in the 80's and it was a boarded up ghost town back then. Even in the dot com boom, there wasn't nearly as much happening. Over the last 5 years or so there has been a lot of development. Especially housing.

I don't know why people can't just answer the question. Don't respond if you have nothing constructive to contribute.
