Hi, Can someone please tell me the estimated/expected travel time from Santa Fe to Albq on a Friday AM? I need to be in Albq by 8:30. What time should I leave Santa Fe? I can map it out but not sure that Mapquest accounts for any rush hour traffic.

Thanks!

Allow for an hour. Add 20 minutes if you need to get to the airport.

Unless you're headed to the north part of ABQ right off the highway, I'd plan for more than an hour. I've had to get to ABQ downtown a few times recently and the construction has slowed things down. If you absolutely positively have to walk in a door by 8:30am, I'd leave no later than 7:00 or 7:10.

I live in the southern part of SF and it takes me 45 minutes from my door to Tramway Blvd. It takes another 15-20 minutes to get somewhere in ABQ, depending on where you're going.

Thanks everyone for the responses but, I guess I should have been more clear. I will be going to the airport. Do I need to build in a lot of extra driving time?

Thanks

Well, I can certainly help for recent airport driving time. I left my house, which is about five minutes from exit 290 (Eldorado), at 6:40am this morning. I arrived at the airport at 7:40. There was no traffic at all until we got to Albuquerque. Even that was light, making me slow down to the speed limit but no slower. I generally drive about 82 mph on the highway, and just above the speed limit in the city.

If you need to park your car and walk in, add in 10 minutes. And I, personally, would add 10 minutes because you're leaving later and might encounter a bit of traffic.

If I was going to ABQ ( The ABQ ), I would leave at 6 am with a cup
of coffee, blow through ABQ ( the town ) on I-25 before a lot of
traffic was on I-25 and stop and enjoy a nice breakfast at the Village Inn
right there on Yale within walking distance of the airport.

You might have an extra 20 minutes to kill or you might have gotten
delayed on I-25 ( somewhere ) due to construction, traffic, accidents
and need an extra 20 minutes or so.

I like to remove stress from my life. One of the ways I do this is by
not trying to time stuff to the last second. I would rather find time to
relax at my destination before I have to do stuff ( like make a plane ).

The very fact that you had to ask the question - "how long is it?"
tells me that you should have a cushion of time built in to your trip.
