I love chile, but don't like it hot. Does anyone know of a place that serves it mild?

This is my one foodie complaint with Santa Fe. Food is way, way too spicy.

Poncho, I was going to say the exact same thing. Very mild, and a country-wide chain.

I'll never get the point of making a dish so hot/spicy that you can't taste anything but the heat. I've had wings that were so hot they could have put the same sauce on marinated shoes and it would have tasted the same.

You could call ahead and ask places if they have mild chile. And many places will also provide a small sample so you can try it before you order. One thing to note though, even if you find a place where it is mild, it may not always be mild there, depending on the batch of chiles - they tend to vary on hotness (even the same kind of chile).

Might as well just buy one of the varieties of canned chili sold in all grocery stores. Most are very mild. And those brands that are "hotter" than mild will say so on the label. I buy canned chili and mix it with a can of refried beans - plus a favorite seasoning - for a cold weather treat.

Oh wo/man - I love the hot chile. The smoke curling around your ears is so Santa Fe.......
And that's what margaritas are for - to put out the fire.
What a combination!!!

If you eat it regularly, you build up a tolerance pretty quickly.
