Interesting article in today's Sarasota Herald. If you are a regular reader of this forum you are aware that there are a number of new construction developments in Venice. Over the next few years that new construction is predicted to increase the population of Venice by 30% or more. But not everyone is happy with the loss of wooded areas/wetlands to development:

We purchased an existing home in Stoneybrook in June of 2013. I can't believe how many new projects are going since then, and I'm not counting the two abandoned and started again on 41 (Gran Paradiso and Sarasota National), and the additional section of IslandWalk.
