You didn't ask about the job situation here, does that mean you won't need to seek employment once you move? I am asking because transplants are often shocked by the lower pay scales here.

We moved from Traverse City, Michigan about 2 years ago and love it! We have stayed in Venice, rented in Island walk, plantation and purchased in Chestnut Creek. $1200 is a stretch for a 3-4 BR rental. North port still has some affordable prices but there is a lot of competition.

If you are relegated to North Port don't stop there. You'll find something in Arcadia or Lake Placid.
