We are trying to figure out what our other options are out there besides Frontier. A lot of people in our neighborhood (Siesta Key) have a satellite dish. The few people I asked seemed to let there better half handle it and had no answer. Is it possible to receive internet without a land line? We're not very well versed on the fancy computer options out there. We just want to keep it plain and simple without breaking the bank.Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Talk to Comcast. They are bending over backwards these days, grateful for all the extra business.

We were thinking Comcast but they have overhead lines which the squirrels and the rats seem to enjoy munching on. Thats what was nice about Verizon, underground and out of sight.

Why is everyone hating Frontier? They are all insanely over priced but we have had zero issues

The service isn't bad but its also $140 a month. It was $130 with Verizon and then the new bill $10 more. Called and was told it would be straightened out. Sure enough next bill wrong again. If you like sitting on hold forever Frontier might be for you.

Since Verizon Fios switched to Frontier months ago, we have had nothing but problems with all of our services and with customer service.

BINGO...I own property that is now serviced by Frontier. Stupid people, stupid customer service. Took them 3 days to solve an underground disconnect problem - first sent out a woman, she stuck around for 10 mins - I called the service agent desk and was told she couldn't perform the necessary task and they would have to send a MAN out !!!!!!! Seriously, you can't make this stuff up...I said "so much for EQUAL PAY, huh" ?

That's a pretty rude comment. Short of peeing in a urinal, I doubt there are many tasks a woman can't do for the cable company.

Maybe they meant that they needed to send out a specialist in your specific problem.

There are options besides Frontier and Comcast.
There is basic old fashion OTA antenna TV. There are 13 HD channels and over 24 SD sub channels. Go to antennaweb.org to see where to point antenna. Exterior antenna needed to get all channels.
DISH or Directv to receive sat service. Keep it simple with just a plain receiver, no DVR
Internet. If you don't use internet for streaming or videos/movies- There is T-Mobile data service [I'm using it right now] Also NetZero and a few others. DISH also has sat internet service through Hughes. [gigs a month and speed similar to wireless service.]

We're considering going with A T & T for our phone,Direct TV and Xfinity. If you bundle the whole thing its a pretty fair deal. We needed to change our phone service and with the Direct TV they offer the NFL package free for one year. We can watch the Packers instead of the minor league team in Tampa. It came out to $30 cheaper a month.
