I'm searching for a furnished rental-house for my grandma that is in the $1500-$2000 range that she would inhabit for a month. She has previously stayed in Venice, but the lady she has rented from is no longer is business. She is familiar with the area and my brother lives in Sarasota, so anywhere in the area would be suitable provided it's "grandma-friendly". She is seemingly having a tough time, as she has enlisted my help last-minute. She intends to fly out of South Dakota in January and has a lap-dog but doesn't intend to bring him unless she finds a pet-friendly place with little to no pet-deposit.

Try Airbnb or VBRO. I have had good luck with rentals through VBRO. I have never tried AIrbnb, but have several friends who have and they have had some nice rentals.
