University Corner is a 55,000-square-foot retail center that will locate on 20 acres at the northeast quadrant of University Parkway and Lorraine Road in the Bradenton community in Manatee County, Florida. It will be anchored by a 46,500-square-foot supermarket, Publix #1600, and will have 26,750 square feet of additional retail space.

Bids for the construction of Publix #1600 and University Corner are due Wednesday, 6 September 2017.

I refer to an unincorporated area as a community and refer to a municipality as its incorporation.

Lakewood Ranch is not recognized as a postal city by the United States Postal Service.

Of course LWR is not a city, everyone knows that...but Lorraine Rad @University Parkway is NOT in the "Bradenton COMMUNITY", and never has been. That location is simply SE Manatee County, again, NO WHERE CLOSE to "the Bradenton community" at all. Heck, Longboat Key is closer to "the Bradenton Community", but no one is dumb enough to label LBK as being in "the Bradenton Community". No one who has lived here for any length of time would likely even refer to living within University Park and CC as being in "the Bradenton Community". You know there are other municipalities than just Bradenton in Manatee County don't you?, and they aren't in "the Bradenton Community" either! Have you heard of The City of Parrish? The City of Palmetto? The City of Bradenton Beach? Holmes Beach" the town of Cortez? the town of Longboat Key? Anna Maria?


In fact, LWR now has its own zip code...so does University Park. The US Postal Service can label places like Lorraine Road as a delivery/distribution destination as Bradenton if they wish (or any other distribution point, like Tallevast), but it doesn't make it in "the Bradenton Community" at all.


There are huge swaths of SE Manatee county just NORTH of University, that have a SARASOTA mailing address too! lol AND those areas are indeed closer to Bradenton than ANYTHING around LORRAINE ROAD for godssake! LOL


No one who lives close to the Polo grounds would suggest they live in the Bradenton Community either.




ON TOPIC : Publix is also building another plaza at the NE corner or STATE ROAD 70 and LORRAINE ROAD as well...and that damn sure isn't in "the Bradenton Community" either. People that live for example in the Town of Longboat Key also do not make the crazy misleading claim that they live in "the Homes Beach COMMUNITY" albeit that it's literally right up the road. People living in Palmetto don't claim or suggest they live in "the Parrish COMMUNITY"...that too would be insane and misleading.


Additionally, still another plaza is now under construction also on a NE corner of Lakewood Ranch BLVD and also STATE ROAD 70, which supposed to be anchored by an LA Fitness......none of this development is in "the Bradenton Community"....not by a long long way.

The 46,013-square-foot Publix #1600 opened today. Publix Super Markets now operates 1,192 stores with 1,089 pharmacies chain-wide; of that, 788 stores with 700 pharmacies are in Florida.
