I can’t say as I am “one of them” and it’s our first year down here for three months. What I can say is it’s real that some locals hate it as we were in a left turn lane as a car went around us screaming obscenities telling us to get the h#&& back to f’ing state on our license plate. Thankfully most locals we know aren’t like that.

Ummm, going the speed limit but planning to make a left turn VERY soon, and rather than slam on the breaks and make it at a cross over without a left turn lane, we went another hundred feet or so to use a left turn lane. Guess when he blasted his horn we could have speeded up and got back in the right lane ahead of the car beside us, or slowed down even more to get in the right lane behind that car. Then he would have been out of sight as we would attempt to make a left turn from a right lane.
