Hi Everyone,

Hope you all have a great weekend, here is my list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area:



FRIDAY

Music in the Park – free concert at Riverwalk in Bradenton, 6 – 8 pm, bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Lakewood Ranch’s Music on Main – free music, street party, kids activities, 6 – 9 pm.

Wine Walk to Ca’d’Zan – wine tastings & food pairings, live music, 6 – 10 pm, tickets $135 – 4200.

Moon over Myakka Concert – starts at 7 pm, park entrance fees waived after 5 pm, $20/person. Myakka River State Park on State Rd 72.




FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Sarasota Bradenton Spring Home Show – Robarts Arena at the Sarasota county fairgrounds, free admission & parking. Fri & Sat 10 am – 7 pm, Sun 10 am – 6 pm.

FL Winefest & Auction – various locations around Sarasota. Info at: https://floridawinefest.org/



FRIDAY & SATURDAY

FL Intercollegiate Rowing Assn Regatta – college rowing teams from all over FL compete at Nathan Benderson Park.




SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Run/ Walk for the Turtles – Mote Marine fundraiser. Registration at 6:30 am by the Siesta Key gazebo, registration fees. 1 mile fun run/walk & 5K run.
Tampa Bay Lightning Viewing Party – Lakewood Ranch’s Main Street, bring lawn chairs but not coolers, starts at 5 pm, game starts at 7 pm.

Big Cat Habitat’s Jungle Jam Fundraiser – live music, silent auction, other activities. Tickets $30 - $125 (VIP), 5:30 – 10 pm, 7101 Palmer Blvd.

St. Lucie Mets vs Bradenton Marauders baseball – LECOM Park, Bradenton, 6:30 pm.

Sarasota Ballet Season Gala – performance at the Sarasota Opera House 5:30 pm, followed by cocktails & dinner party at the Art Ovation Hotel on N. Palm Ave 7:15 pm. $500/person, reservations required, call 225-6513.



SATURDAY – SUNDAY

Downtown Sarasota Arts & Crafts Festival – 1 Central Ave, 10 am – 5 pm.

Lido Beach Spring Fine Arts Festival – Lido Beach pavilion area, 10 am – 5 pm.

Sail Fest Regatta – sponsored by the Sarasota Youth Sailing Club, for ages 8 – 21. Meet up at City Island, 1717 Ken Thompson Pkwy.



SUNDAY

Bridge Street Market --great farmers market option on Anna Maria Island, 10 am - 3 pm

Siesta Key Farmers Market -- Siesta Village Plaza, 8 am - 2 pm

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.

Ski-A-Rees Ski Show -- 2 pm at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (behind Mote Marine).

Polo at the Sarasota Polo Club, Lakewood Ranch -- 1 pm, gates open at 10 am. Adults $10, children under 12 get in free. University Pkwy east to right on Lorraine Rd.
Coquina Beach Market – produce, lots of other vendors, 8 am – 4 pm, south end of Anna Maria Island

Wine on the Water – at the Van Wezel, 1 pm, wine tastings and live music. Food available to purchase. $25 person/ for 6 tastings.

Some great events but some have crazy pricing....whatttt?

Most of these types of events are fundraisers - some are even deductible on your taxes.

I agree - it costs a lot of money to do most "events". That's why you will find me in the free places like the Farmers Market, the ski show and sailing, biking (Legacy Trail, etc.) and the free art shows.

I'm sure we (wife and I) could expand our horizons by attending opera, ballet, etc....but we don't see to get around to it.

I don't mind a reasonable entry fee but sheesh tickets $135 – 4200
Still good to get the info on here though
