Hi Everyone,
Hope you all have a great weekend, here is my list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area. Please note that many of these events will be subject to weather conditions and forecasts are for lots of rain this weekend.
FRIDAY
Music in the Park -- at Payne Park in Sarasota. At the Cafe in the Park, music starts at 7:30 pm. Food & beverage services begins at 6 pm.
SATURDAY
Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.
Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.
Bradenton Farmers Market -- downtown Bradenton on Old Main Street, 9 am - 2 pm.
Memorial Day Ceremony at Sarasota National Cemetery -- 9810 SR 72, starts at 10 am.
Venice Brew Bash -- 60+ craft & imported beers, food vendors, must be 21 and up to attend. Tickets $45 for unlimited beer tasting, $5 for designated drivers & other non-drinking participants. 3 - 7 pm, Venice Community Center, 326 Nokomis Ave.
Hap's Cycle Sales Veterans Day Celebration -- proceeds to support local vets, food trucks, Vets bike show, 8 am - 4 pm, 2530 17th St, Sarasota.
Classic Car Show -- Lance's Cruzin car show at Hooters in Bradenton on US41, 6 - 9 pm.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
St. Armand's Seafood & Music Festival -- seafood vendors, live music, arts & crafts, Humane Society mobile adoption center. Runs 11 am - 8 pm, VIP tickets $130/person, free general admission.
SATURDAY - MONDAY
US Armed Forces personnel & veterans get free admission to Sarasota Jungle Gardens with valid ID and purchase of 1 adult or 1 child regular admission, open 10 am - 6 pm.
SUNDAY
Bridge Street Market --great farmers market option on Anna Maria Island, 10 am - 3 pm
Coquina Beach Market -- at the south end of Coquina Beach, 10 am - 4 pm
Siesta Key Farmers Market -- Siesta Village Plaza, 8 am - 2 pm
Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.
Ski-A-Rees Ski Show -- 2 pm at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (behind Mote Marine).
Memorial Day Parade -- Lakewood Ranch's Main street, parade at 7 pm, celebration 6 - 8 pm.
MONDAY
Memorial Day Ceremony -- Veteran's Monument Park in Bradenton, behind Manatee Memorial Hospital on US 41, starts 9 am.
Sarasota Memorial Day Parade -- starts at 10 am on Osprey Ave and travels down Main St to JD Hamel Park for a ceremony at 11 am.
Venice Memorial Day Ceremony -- starts at 10 am at Patriots Park.
Memorial Day Concert -- at Phillippi Estate Park, 5 - 7 pm, bring lawn chairs, food & drink vendors on site. Adults $5, children 12 and under get in free.
