I'm assuming they didn't mean TV service when using the word cable, but the internet from cable.

But yes most of the time cable tv is a ripoff, unless you know how to play the 1yr agreements to your advantage. with both Youtube TV and ATT TV keep jacking up their prices, cable companies are actually starting to look competitive with live TV services (especially sports).

i.e. before I moved to Sarasota I had Xfinity 220 channel package with live streaming and Showtime, + 800Mb internet for $120 total including taxes. previously I had YTTV started at $55, then went to $65 then finally $75... any my internet was $70. in this case Xfinity was actually cheaper.

Moving to Sarasota I switched back to YTTV + Xfinity, since I get $10 credit on YTTV with T-Mobile, and internet was only $60 for 800Mb.

I much prefer the flexibility of YTTV.

The other plus with YTTV and other streaming options is no required contracts, which seem to be a given with AT&T and other cable/satellite related options.

Yeah and YTTV even lets you put your service/bill on pause for a couple months if needed. Great benefit
