Hi Everyone,

Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend (please note that some of the events require masks):


FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Sarasota Sailing Squadron's annual Labor Day Regatta -- 1717 Ken Thompson Pkwy on City Island, Fri 4 - 8 pm, Sat 9 am - 8 pm, Sun 9 am - 5 pm. Event started in 1946, is the longest running regatta event.


SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm. Veggies, organics, fresh eggs, seafood and more. (CLOSED June - Sept.)

Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.

NBP Rec Days -- family fun on the water - paddle boarding, kayaks, canoes & more. $10/person or $5/adult with child, maximum charge per family is $35. Nathan Benderson Park, 10 am - 2 pm.

Fox Yoga -- fundraising event at Big Cat Habitat on Palmer Blvd in Sarasota, starts 8:45 pm, $125/person.
Also Lemur Yoga at 10:30 am, also $125/person.

UTC Fit -- outdoor fitness workout event at University Town Center parking on west side, free admission, starts at 9:30 am.

Cars & Coffee -- bring your cars and trucks to display, free coffee & donuts, Elite Motor Works, 1749 Cattlemen Rd, 7:30 - 10:30 am.



SATURDAY - SUNDAY

Downtown Venice Craft Festival -- event is back on, with Covid precautions in place. 10 am - 4 pm.



SUNDAY

Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- LWR Medical Center parking lot, 10 am - 2 pm.

Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- closed for the summer, back next fall.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- closed for the summer, back next season.

Aqua Palooza 2021 - water party for boaters at New Pass sandbar by Marine Max, 10 am - 4 pm.

For those willing to travel to Tampa, here are a couple of other things to do:

Labor Day Home Show -- billed as the biggest home show on the west coast.
Fri 11 am - 5 pm, Sat 11 am - 6 pm, Sun 11 am - 5 pm, Mon 11 am - 5 pm.
Tampa Expo Hall at the state fairgrounds. $8/adults, seniors & military/$7, children 12 & under get in free, $8 parking.

Collectors Con -- Friday thru Sunday. Vendors buying and selling collectibles such as sports cards & memorabilia, comics, "vintage" computer games, etc. Tampa Convention Center.

Almost missed this one:

St. Pete Powerboat Grand Prix -- Friday thru Sunday at St. Pete Pier. Powerboat races, powerboats in downtown St. Pete, other events. Starts at 10 am each day. If you go, please pay close attention to the parking signs because they do ticket and tow if you park where you should not.

It’s crazy, it’s almost like you have to beg for things to be advertised these days. I heard nothing about the St Pete Boat race and I have been couch bound all week after surgery looking for things to do.
