Didn't help to hear of $400K budgets ballooning to $700K just to get a house. No thanks. Not going to enter a competition when I don't have to move now. Hoping things will settle down as we really like the quiet, peaceful open land vibe of Englewood. We actually would probably build a house in the future there....but not now.
You can also thank the likes of Blackstone, and Homevestors for this too! Not just in Florida but all over the country. That is why you see rent jacked up. Big property firms buying properties and jacking the rent up.

They'll swoop right in and buy the property right away and beat everyone and can roll the dice on the inspections that any sane person wouldn't do. if the house is a total dud and has major issues at worst it's a expense write off as a loss for them if it has catastrophic repairs needed.

I hope these big firms come crashing down. if I was selling a home and didn't need top dollar I would on purpose not sell it to a investor.

Especially the houses under $600,000 they seem to come in and swoop them up.

Now your 700k and million dollar on up houses around here stay on the market a lot longer, but the high in demand housing, a 3 or 4 bedroom normal house for your typical resident or even snowbird gets ate up quick in my area. Granted now I'm seeing houses on the market for longer when I drive around my area. It's opened up a bit.
