For those looking for something fun to do on New Year's Eve, downtown Sarasota is offering a whole range of activities.

The celebration starts at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 31, through 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 1. Admission to this family-friendly event is FREE.

The festivities will include amusement rides and games; live music from various bands throughout the afternoon and evening; food, drinks and full bar concessions; and the famous Pineapple Drop at midnight followed by a fireworks display on Sarasota Bay by Marina Jack's.
