Dont feel sorry for all of the homeless - many are deviant criminals -

If that was my daughter - that man would not have made it to jail

For some reason Sarasota is like a magnet for deviants. It's always been like that, but statistics are swept under the rug. I first moved there in 1981, and personally had several scary incidents involving deviants - two indecent exposures, a peeping tom, chased on foot downtown, and chased down TWICE in my vehicle. Also had my fence burned down (downtown) and burglarized TWICE. That all happened in the 1980s.

Moved away but moved back in 2009 for several years and it was much improved, but the bums and deviants are plenty out and about - downtown, North Trail and certain other hot spots. The police themselves told me crime is WAY underreported there because they don't want to scare the tourists.....

YEP, that's been true in Sarasota (county, city etc), and Manatee for decades! you and I KNOW that.

The same thing is now true about Lakewood Ranch especially. Now we have a new set of boneheads that assert there is no crime problem growing (criminal, civil, white collar, gang, etc) in Lakewood Ranch and environs.

You and I know, it's always been an intentional myth, and still is ! All one has to do is DO what you and I have done over the years, is GO talk with actual Law Enforcement on the ground. They are likely to tell you the truth, especially now in Manatee ...the City of Sarasota is less forthcoming.
