Hi Everyone,

Because of hurricane Ian storm damage, some events are still being cancelled or postponed to a later date. The St. Armand's Boat Show has been cancelled. I have tried to verify the events below as to which ones are still taking place as originally scheduled, but sometimes there is conflicting information. So I will do my best to report the weekend events.

Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend:


OCTOBER 14th - 23rd

10 Days at the Bay Grand Opening -- 90 fun filled (and free) events throughout the 10 days celebrating the grand opening of the "new" Sarasota bayfront public park.

FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Rocktoberfest -- various bands playing, arts & crafts vendors, food vendors, beer vendors. Free admission, J D Hamel Park in downtown Sarasota. Fri 4 - 10 pm, Sat 11 am - 10 pm, Sun 11 am - 6 pm.

Venice's Sun Fiesta -- website still showing event as taking place this weekend. Arts & Crafts, lots of fun events including the bed race, beer & wine tent, food vendors. Centennial Park - downtown Venice. Fri 5 - 8 pm, Sat 9 am - 9:30 pm, Sun 9 am - 5 pm.

Celtic Music Festival -- music, food, dance. Motor Works Brewing Co, 1014 9th St W, Bradenton. Fri 5 - 10 pm, Sat 11:30 am - 10 pm, Sun 11 am - 2 pm.



SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm. (Closed for the summer, back in October.)

Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.

Live Music at Lakewood Ranch Waterside Place -- runs 6 - 9 pm.

St. Armands Cars & Coffee -- informal car show 8 - 10 am, Lynch's Pub & Grub.

Fox Yoga -- fundraiser at Big Cat Habitat -- yoga plus admission to the habitat, 8:45 am, $125/person.

10 Days at the Bay free Concert by We The Kings -- Sarasota Bay Park, 8 - 10 pm.

Anna Maria Island Bay Fest -- classic car show 10 am - 3 pm, arts & crafts vendors, food vendors, music, 10 am - 9 pm, Pine Ave.

Big Mama's Collard Greens Festival -- various chefs compete, family friendly activities, 12 - 6 pm, free admission, Robert Taylor Community Complex, 1845 34th St, Sarasota.




SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Venice Home Show -- Venice Community Center. Conflicting info on this event -- one site shows still on for the weekend, another has it as moved to February 2023.

Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Fest -- pony rides, petting zoo, pumpkin painting, Sat 2 pm kids costume contest, food vendors & more. 10 am - 5 pm, free admission, 7410 Fruitville Rd, Sarasota.

Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival -- arts & crafts, live music, hay rides, pony rides, petting zoo & other activities. 9 am - 5 pm, admission $15/adult, ages 10 & under get in free, parking $5 (cash only). Located on CR 675 half way between SR 64 & 70 in Manatee Co.



SUNDAY

Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.

The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- at Siesta Key beach every Sunday about an hour before sunset.

Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- Season over, back next winter for a new season of polo matches.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- free show, starts 2 pm, 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy by Mote.

Sunday at the Bay Music Concert -- Sarasota Bay Park, starts 6 pm.
